I just recently read the book Eat That Frog, by Brian Tracy. This book is a masterpiece for anyone who has a problem with fear regarding prospecting and networking, Tracy explains that 20% of our efforts yield 80% of our results. This basically means that we toil and labor away focusing the majority of our time on things that don’t offer much of a return.

It is amazing to me how many people are failing in their mlm companies. They end up quitting and they blame their failure on the company, their up-line, their products, their dog and everything else under the sun. I can’t tell you how many times I have talked with people for an hour about them branding themselves first before they brand their product/company, only to have them look me in the eye after as they continue reciting their company checklist of why their company is “ground floor, projecting exponential growth, revolutionary, cutting edge, etc etc etc…”
They tell me “….but Chris you just don’t understand there are doctors behind this and it hasn’t gone public yet…blah blah blah. Folks if this is you, then take a breath and relax because your breed is becoming extinct. If you want to fail at Network Marketing then by all means push your product. People don’t grow up with professional aspirations of selling vitamins, cell phone coverage, or beauty products, so what makes you think they care about your products or care about actually selling them?
What they care about is being lead and having the freedom in life to do exactly what they want to do. If your product will help them get there then great, by all means promote it, but promote “You” as the answer to their problems and promote your leadership as the method that is going to help them fulfill their dreams. At the end of the day, it’s your leadership and system of duplication that will keep them in the game long enough so they can actually take the baton from you and do for someone else.
Folks, people don’t buy products, they buy people and if you are honest and can provide leadership, people will follow you to the ends of the earth and they will fulfill their own dreams along the way.
There are many reasons why I chose to join the Numis Network, but there are really only about five that stand out to me. In this first video I highlight what I feel is one of the most significant reasons to join a network like Numis: The Players. Numis has become a virtual playground for the top online Network Marketers. Think about it for a second. If many of the top online marketers are all playing at the same playground, doesn’t that say something about where they are playing?

I recently set up a little experiment at my business. I wanted to ask twenty customers a question and have them answer it while I filmed the scenario. The test group consisted of twenty people, so the outcome isn’t as reliable as a test group of one hundred or more subjects, nonetheless the answers that I did get are pretty telling. It was a lot of fun and the customers were more than happy to oblige my request.
I asked the customers a question that I changed up for variety. It went something like this: “If I were to give you one hundred dollars a month in gold and silver collectible coins, nutritional products, cosmetics, or health drinks, which product would you prefer to receive? The people that chose gold and silver, chose it quickly and had specific answers as to why they would want it. The people that chose one of the other products had more of a topical or reactionary response.
Out of the twenty people fourteen chose gold and silver coins over vitamins, cosmetic, and nutritional drinks. There is also another revealing factor that was apparent in the responses. I won’t tell you what it is, maybe you can figure it out yourself
Narc That Car, a Network Marketing Company out of Dallas Texas, is a new player in the network marketing arena. Their compensation plan describes their process as “Business Made Simple: Narc a few cars, teach others how to narc cars, sign up clients. ”
Narc Technologies is compiling an expanding database of license plates that law enforcement agencies, repo companies and other businesses can purchase. This database will eventually allow these respective entities the ability to track down their cars that have been stolen or whose owners have defaulted on their loan purchases. Narc Technologies is building this database through the efforts of the public who join their MLM Company and essentially Narc plates off of the random cars they come across. Like most Network Marketing opportunities, you have to do your homework and read the fine print before you hand over the cash. Aside from the company itself, you must determine whether or not you have your own systems in place in order to be successful. You must brand yourself before you brand your opportunity. Have you recently joined a Network Marketing company only to discover that you are in over your head? This is not uncommon for a lot of people because most of us come from the job world where we have always been told what to do and how and when to do it. However, when we start out in our first Network Marketing company we often find ourselves alone, answering only to the person in the mirror. Our initial excitement about our new career quickly subsides and we are hit with the reality that any success that we have is completely determined by our own effort.
Take heart, there is light at the end of the tunnel. What you have to do first is adopt a mindset of change. This is going to require you to step out of your traditional thinking and comfort zones. Like the Nike motto “Just Do It,” you have to accept your new career and jump into the “pool of change” with both feet. Network Marketing also requires that you get focused. Like any traditional business, it takes time to brand yourself or your company. Don’t expect success to happen overnight. The more focused and persistent you are, the better you will become.
Whether you are in over your head or not in your Network Marketing opportunity, be excited about the fact that it is going to change many things about you. It is going to force you to be more sociable, more organized and among other things more patient. Build your Network Marketing empire one brick at a time and in the process you will discover that you can change yourself in the process. Be patient and persistent and you will uncover an entrepreneurial that you never knew that you had.
If you want to set the success bar high in Network Marketing, you must first make a few conscious shifts in mindset and essentially start thinking and acting like the person that you want to become. Okay, that sounds like a phrase from a self help book, but it is absolutely without a doubt, 100% true. To become a winner you must think and act as if you are going to win and you need to believe it at the same time. You must also assist your belief, by implementing processes that will make success possible.
1. Have a winner’s mindset. If you are allowing your past experiences and outcomes to determine your future, you are destined to fail at Network Marketing. If you operate from a position of “playing not to lose” instead of “playing to win,” you will NEVER succeed. Champions win because they refuse to lose. Mike Tyson ruled the heavyweight boxing world in the 1980’s and amassed a 37-0 record before losing in 1990 to a journeyman boxer named Buster Douglas. Before losing his first fight, Tyson fought with such ferocity that his opponents knew they were going to lose before they stepped into the ring with him. Tyson possessed a winner’s mindset and absolutely refused to lose. His opponent’s did not share the same mindset. To become an Expert Marketer that wins, you must first decide that you are not going to lose. If your past life experiences have turned you into a timid Network Marketer that is walks into the ring hoping not to lose, then drop your past fears at ringside and become MikeTyson.
2. If you want to become an Expert Marketer, then do what the experts do. Most bar setting Marketers do whatever it takes to get to the top. They study their craft, and the intricacies of marketing by buying training, tools, software, coaching, and every new thing that comes down the pipe. I’ve heard it said that it takes 20,000 hours to become an expert in anything. With that in mind, if you ever get to the point as an Expert Marketer where you feel like you have done enough to be successful, let me just remind you that “you haven’t.” You can always do more and you should adopt the position that your education is never done. Many of the top earners and Expert Marketers spend $10-20,000 per year on training, and some spend more than that once they have reached a high level of success.
3. You must believe that you will become an expert marketer and then implement the support steps that will help turn belief into reality. Realistically, it doesn’t matter which MLM you represent, if you don’t understand that you are selling yourself and the fact that you are in the people business.
