Many entrepreneurs are looking to expand their home based business and/or MLM company online.  Traditionally, MLM companies have been marketed by word of mouth, or through traditional mediums such as classified ads, cold calling, in-home presentations, and by handing out business cards etc… The internet however, has changed the game by providing people the ability to get their MLM business in front of as many potential customers as possible.

Although the old Network Marketing and MLM strategies still generate results, the internet’s ability to market virally, has made it an appealing option or addition to traditional marketing .  Below are ten advantages that online marketing has over traditional offline marketing.

  1. The internet allows you to have Extended Outreach.  Think of an Octopus going after its’ prey. It has eight arms and legs. If it misses with one limb, it has seven more that it can grab dinner with. The same applies to marketing. Why only call one person on the phone, when you can contact thousands on the internet through email lead lists, social networking sites, traffic generators and broadcast media?
  2. By Marketing your MLM company online you can use Autoresponders . These little gems are essentially email programs that allow you to follow up with people you have made contact with, but you aren’t the one actually following up, your automated email system is. This way you or should I say “cyber you” can stay in touch without having to actually be there in person. It is a priceless feature that keeps you in front of a prospect until they either make a decision to join your MLM business, or unsubscribe to your auto-response emails.
  3. Unlike traditional Network marketing where you contact cold leads by phone or by handing out business cards, the internet affords you the ability to drive prospects to you. Prospects opt in to your capture pages themselves and provide you with their contact information. This means that they are more likely than not to listen to what you have to say, because you have already made contact with them through some type of internet medium. This previous contact with them and their willingness to provide you with their contact information signifies them as a Warm Contact.
  4. Through the internet you can Permanently Brand yourself by creating a website that acts as a permanent billboard for you or your product. As long as you renew your domain and hosting service annually, you online presence is permanent through your blog or website.
  5. The internet allows you to have Information on tap. Being able to get info or access your MLM opportunity at the click of a button is priceless. Webinars, websites, product reviews, strategic info etc… are just a few ways in which your MLM prospects can find out more about you and your opportunity. The internet is a “virtual fountain” of useful knowledge.

The internet allows you and your MLM business to be Everywhere.  You can position your MLM opportunity in front of social networking sites, article marketing programs, browsers, lead lists, video sharing sites and  email boxes. Your ability to position your MLM company everywhere is a an aspect of the internet that most marketers can’t resist.

Many MLM companies have a national presence and some have even expanded internationally. The internet allows someone to expand their prospect pool from their neighborhood and state to the entire planet. It allows your offline MLM business to be a global company at the click of a button.
  9. All businesses require some type of Investment and usually have ongoing overhead. Many offline MLM businesses require traveling expenses, printing costs and even sample purchasing expenses. These expenses are recurring offline, but can be minimized or eliminated through online MLM business promotion.
  10. The internet allows you and your MLM company to have a Full Time presence.Your branded websites,  social networking sites, video uploads and all other content are assessable 24 hours per day online. Try giving your offline prospects 24 hour access to you. You won’t be a happy camper.
  11. The internet allows you to create sales funnels and systems that Monetize your prospects even if they don’t join your MLM business. If you are effective at setting up the systems, you can generate enough money to offset the cost of any online business expenses you might incur.

If you are  considering  getting into an MLM business, you are going to have market it locally to people in your city and state.
